New legislation was passed in March 2011 stating that all tenants in Scotland must have their deposits protected in a government approved scheme. The implementation date is due to be JUNE 2012. In essence all landlords and agents will need to, by law, send the tenants full deposit to a custodial scheme within 30 days of a new tenancy.
